About Coupland

Coupland is a city of approximately 300 residents in southeastern Williamson County, Texas, situated at the intersection of FM 1660 and FM 973 approximately 15 miles east of Round Rock and 10 miles south of Taylor. The city was established in 1887 when the Bastrop and Taylor Railway was constructed through the area, and it is named for Major Theodore Van Buren Coupland, whose family owned large tracts of land along Brushy Creek. Coupland incorporated in November 2012 on the 125th anniversary of its founding, making it one of the newest incorporated cities in the county despite its long history.
