About Crosswinds

Crosswinds is a 445-acre master-planned community in Kyle, Hays County, located off Windy Hill Road west of Interstate 35. The original development concept was announced in 2011 by EB Windy Hill L.P. Allegiant Realty Partners, formed by two Dallas-based land development firms, acquired the community in mid-2014 and delivered the first 225 homesites in spring 2016. The community officially opened to buyers in May 2017. At buildout, Crosswinds is planned for 1,400 single-family lots.

Six builders are currently active in the community: Brightland Homes, Highland Homes, MileStone Community Builders, Pacesetter Homes, Pulte Homes, and Perry Homes. Homes are single-family detached residences on 40-foot, 50-foot, and 60-foot wide lots, with floor plans ranging from approximately 1,500 to 3,000 square feet across three- to five-bedroom designs.

Crosswinds dedicates 130 acres to parks, trails, and greenbelts — nearly a third of the community's total acreage. The Windy Point Amenity Center features a resort-style pool, splash pad, tot pool, and grilling porch with pavilion. Additional community amenities include pickleball courts with shade structures, a basketball court, a dedicated dog park, multiple playgrounds, open play fields for soccer, and an extensive trail network for walking, jogging, and biking.

The community operates within a Municipal Utility District (Crosswinds MUD) created during the 84th Texas Legislative Session in 2015, with a City of Kyle consent agreement signed July 21, 2015. The HOA is managed by Guardian Associate Management.

Living in Crosswinds

Crosswinds is in the Hays Consolidated Independent School District. Zoned campuses include Pfluger Elementary School, Chapa Middle School, and Lehman High School. Lehman High School is a UIL 6A campus and offers programs including an award-winning music and theater department, culinary curriculum, and Navy JROTC.

Kyle's park system includes 10 developed parks across 749 total acres with 11 miles of trails. Lake Kyle Park, the city's largest developed park at 118 acres, features a 12.5-acre catch-and-release fishing lake, over two miles of hiking trails, a fitness court, an inclusive playground, and a picnic pavilion. Gregg-Clarke Park at 28 acres includes softball and football fields, tennis courts, the James Adkins Pool and splash pad, a skatepark, and playgrounds. The Plum Creek and Vybe trail systems connect multiple parks and neighborhoods throughout the city.

Kyle is approximately 25 miles south of downtown Austin via Interstate 35. Ascension Seton Hays hospital provides emergency and inpatient care in Kyle. Distribution and logistics employers including Amazon, FedEx, and Tesla have facilities along the I-35 corridor in the Kyle area. San Marcos Premium Outlets is approximately 15 miles south.
